Week Eight: Drawing the Fashion Figure
Once you have learned drawing in 2D with the flats, it is time to move on to the more dimensional drawing of the 3D Figure.
Assigned Reading:
Read pages 161-162 in The Ultimate Fashion Study Guide for an understanding of design basics.
Read pages 1-267 (10 head figure template on p.89) in Fashion Illustration for Designers.
Reference Fashion Illustration for Designer by Kathryn Hagen for both Week Eight and Week Nine.
Kathryn Hagen's book which is a required text for this class is a great resource for fashion drawing. Practice drawing the 10 head fashion figure template on page 89 to understand the proportion of the fashion figure. In the back of her book is also a CD with videos of her demonstrating each of her illustration techniques. Four of these videos are included below for your quick reference. Please refer to your book for further explanations and videos.

Post a copy of each critique in the course blog.
Flats Project is due by Sunday ending Week Eight. This project is worth 15 points and should be uploaded using the submission feature at the bottom of this page.
